1. Publication of Co-Drafted Standards

Recently, two group standards–Specification for Evaluation of International Science and Technology Talents and Specification for Evaluation of International Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Bases–have been officially published and distributed by China Standards Press. The standards were co-drafted by the Liberian Academy of Sciences and released by the China International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology, representing an important practical outcome of the Academy’s engagement in international science and technology (S&T) cooperation.

2. Standards Aligned with Local Needs

Developed in line with the actual status of scientific research development in Liberia and Africa, the two standards clarify the core dimensions and indicator systems for S&T talent evaluation, and standardize the construction requirements and assessment methods for S&T innovation cooperation bases. With a focus on practical application, the standards aim to provide a reference framework for regional research institutions to conduct talent evaluation and build innovation platforms.

3. Follow-Up Promotion Plans

As a co-drafting party, the Liberian Academy of Sciences will launch promotion and publicity activities within Liberia. Through thematic seminars, technical training, and other forms, the Academy will help local research institutions, universities, and relevant enterprises gain a clear understanding of the standards’ content. Additionally, the Academy will share the standards with S&T partners from other African countries to explore potential for practical application.

4. Deepening China-Liberia S&T Collaboration

This cooperation between China and Liberia reflects the practical collaboration between the two sides in the S&T field. Moving forward, the Liberian Academy of Sciences will take these standards as a foundation to further deepen international exchanges, and contribute to enhancing the capacity of local S&T innovation and cooperation.
