About Us

Who We Are

The Liberia Academy of Sciences is an academic institution in Liberia dedicated to promoting scientific research and innovative education in and out of Liberia. We also serve as a policy Think Tank for research in the Global South, especially across Africa.

  • Research and Development: The Academy of Sciences conducts research in multiple fields, including but not limited to agriculture, health, environment, minerals, etc., to promote technological progress and sustainable development in Liberia.
  • Education and Training: The Academy of Sciences offers science education and training programs aimed at enhancing public scientific literacy and cultivating future scientists and researchers.
  • Policy Advice: The Academy of Sciences provides science-based policy recommendations to the government to help formulate policies that are beneficial to national development.
  • International Cooperation: The Academy of Sciences establishes cooperative relationships with research institutions in other countries for international academic exchanges and collaborative projects.
  • Science Popularization: The Academy of Sciences disseminates scientific knowledge to the public through publications, lectures, seminars, and other forms.
