Membership

LAS is a merit-oriented national learned society. Membership and Fellowship recognize scientific achievement, professional contribution, integrity and service to Liberia.

Membership Categories

Fellow

Fellowship is an elected academic distinction for senior scientists, scholars and professionals with a sustained record of achievement, leadership and service. Candidates are considered through nomination and review under the Academy’s governing rules.

Member

Membership is open to qualified researchers, educators and professionals with relevant postgraduate education or equivalent professional standing and a demonstrated contribution to research, teaching, innovation or public service.

Associate Member

Associate Membership supports graduate students, early-career researchers, educators and professionals who demonstrate potential and active engagement in research, teaching, innovation or science communication.

Honorary Member

Honorary Membership may be conferred by nomination and approval on individuals whose public, professional or institutional contributions have significantly supported science, education, innovation or evidence-informed development. It is not equivalent to elected Fellowship.
