Biography
Babatunde F. Ogunbayo is Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology at William V. S. Tubman University in Harper, Maryland County, Liberia. He obtained his PhD in Construction Management from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2022, specialising in maintenance management and services for the Global South.
Professor Ogunbayo teaches postgraduate courses in research methodology, engineering management and construction management, and has supervised and examined numerous Honours, Master's and Doctoral dissertations across several universities, including co-supervision of MBA capstone projects at the Johannesburg Business School. He serves as Guest Associate Editor for Frontiers in Sustainability and Frontiers in Built Environment, acts as an external examiner for the Universities of Johannesburg, the Witwatersrand, Tshwane and the Free State, and has authored or co-authored more than 160 scholarly publications. His research interests include construction and project management, maintenance services, construction technology, artificial intelligence in construction, material testing, construction health and safety, and digitalisation in the built environment.
His leadership of engineering education in Liberia directly serves the country's priorities in rebuilding infrastructure, professionalising the construction sector and training the engineers its recovery requires.
