Biography
Professor Chérif Dridi is a physicist and nanotechnology researcher at the Centre for Research on Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (CRMN), Technopole of Sousse, Tunisia, where he leads the NANOMISENE R&D Laboratory. His research focuses on advanced organic and hybrid nanomaterials and their applications in sensors and biosensors, microsystems, environmental monitoring, health diagnostics, solar-energy conversion and optoelectronic devices.
He received his advanced training in physics, materials and electronic devices in Tunisia and earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis. His research has combined fundamental materials characterisation with the development of practical devices and sensing technologies for health, environmental and energy applications.
Professor Dridi is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS), reflecting his contribution to physical sciences and nanotechnology in Africa. His recent research continues to address electrochemical and nanoscale sensing technologies, advanced materials and microsystems.
His expertise in nanomaterials, sensors, microelectronics and experimental science is particularly relevant to Liberia's priorities in laboratory capacity, environmental monitoring, health technologies, renewable energy, engineering education and the development of young scientists.
