Biography

Erastus M. Mwanaumo is Professor of Infrastructure Construction Management and Economics at the University of Zambia (UNZA), where he serves as Director of the Directorate of Research and Development and chairs the university's Land and Estates Committee. He holds a PhD in Engineering Management from the University of Johannesburg, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB), a Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (FEIZ) and a Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FZIQS), as well as a registered engineer. Since joining UNZA in 2015, Professor Mwanaumo has served the School of Engineering as Assistant Dean responsible for postgraduate studies and as Head of Department, and acted for over a year as Director of Research, Innovation and Development. His research covers construction economics, infrastructure finance and investment, and climate change in infrastructure, focusing on the delivery, financing and governance of resilient public works in developing economies. He accepted the distinction of Fellow of the Liberia Academy of Sciences in July 2026. His expertise is particularly relevant to Liberia's priorities in post-conflict infrastructure reconstruction, climate-resilient public works and the strengthening of engineering education, research management and professional standards.
