Biography

Fabian I. Ezema is Professor and Director of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he previously served as Director of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme and as Director of the University's International Office. He obtained his PhD and MSc in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (FNIP), of the African Academy of Sciences (FAAS) and of the Nigerian Academy of Science (FAS). Professor Ezema coordinates the Nano Research Group at Nsukka and has authored more than two hundred publications on materials science, nanotechnology and sustainable energy, including influential work on thin films, metal chalcogenides for energy storage, supercapacitor electrodes and materials for photovoltaic applications. He accepted the distinction of Fellow of the Liberia Academy of Sciences in August 2026, writing that he looks forward to further collaboration with the Academy. His expertise is particularly relevant to Liberia's priorities in applied materials research, renewable-energy technologies and the international networking of West African universities. His leadership of the university's research directorate also gives him system-level experience in research management, funding and innovation policy.
