Biography

Professor Justo Bolekia Boleká is a scholar, linguist, writer and educator whose academic work has focused on French philology, African languages, sociolinguistics, lexicography, multilingualism and intercultural studies. He has been associated with the University of Salamanca, including its Faculty of Education and Tourism of Ávila, and is a Corresponding Member of the Royal Spanish Academy. He holds doctorates from the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Salamanca. A significant part of his scholarly work has examined the Bubi language, including its linguistic and sociolinguistic development, lexical contact and cultural transmission. His academic and literary publications also engage with African culture, identity, language and literature. Professor Bolekia Boleká has held academic leadership responsibilities at the University of Salamanca and has contributed to teaching, research and international academic exchange. His expertise in African languages, multilingual education and cultural knowledge is particularly relevant to Liberia's multilingual context and to wider efforts in language preservation, culturally grounded education, knowledge transmission and the mentoring of young African scholars.
