Biography
Professor Kemal Yıldırım is a political scientist and interdisciplinary scholar whose work spans comparative politics, human rights, international relations and diplomacy, peace and conflict studies, cultural studies and global governance. He has taught political science and human rights law at the European School of Law and Governance in Kosovo and serves as Founding President of the Beyt Nahrin Mesopotamian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
His scholarly work addresses political transitions, democracy and human rights, migration and refugees, international diplomacy, identity and cultural politics, as well as political and diplomatic developments across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. He has published extensively across these fields and has also contributed to academic publishing through editorial and peer-review activities. Alongside his academic work, he has pursued interdisciplinary cultural activities as an author and filmmaker.
Professor Yıldırım was elected to Class V — Social Sciences, Law and Economics — of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2022. His international academic engagement includes participation in scholarly networks concerned with history, culture, diplomacy, human rights and international cooperation.
His expertise in comparative politics, human rights, diplomacy and peacebuilding is particularly relevant to Liberia's priorities in institutional development, international academic cooperation, peace and governance studies, and strengthening the contribution of social-science scholarship to national development.
